The annual International Conference “Consulting without Borders” was first organized in 2012, when it was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was created to celebrate the life and work of the former Regional Director of the EBRD’s Business Advisory Services Program in Central Asia- Gabriel Al-Salem- and has been held on his birthday, February 1st, each year since.
The objective of the Conference is to consolidate the consultancy industry by bringing together individual consultants, consulting companies, businesses, and associations, and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experiences, acknowledge the importance of best practices for high quality in business advice, and encourage innovation and cooperation in the consulting market.
The extended Conference program includes a festive ceremony for the winners of the Gabriel Al-Salem International Award for Excellence in Consulting, as well as an optional tour of the host city/country and opportunities to participate in trainings by recognized international consulting experts.
The Conference has been supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
