Sponsored walk organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

On June 28 and 30 the promotional events for the Foundation and the Award in Dushanbe and Khodjent were organized by the EBRD BAS (Business Advisory Service) Programme in Tajikistan.

The event on June 16 was organized by the Management Consulting Institute of Kyrgyzstan with the support from the EBRD BAS Programme.  AKI-Press provided informational coverage for the event.  Laurent Guye, Country Director for Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan from the Swiss Cooperation Office and Consulate endorsed the Award and announced the Swiss Government’s decision to make a contribution to the Foundation.

On June 8 the Kazakhstan Chamber of Management Consultants “CMC Kazakhstan” and Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation announced criteria for selecting winners of Gabriel Al-Salem International Award for Excellence in Consulting in five nominations:

  • Consulting Project of the Year
  • Consultant of the Year
  • Significant Contribution to the Advancement of Management Consulting Profession
  • Consultants Without Borders
  • Most Dynamic National Organization of Management Consultants.

 

The Working Group discussed mission and principles of Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation and endorsed media plan and regional travel schedule to promote the Foundation and Gabriel Al-Salem International Award in the countries of Central Asia.

 On Gabriel’s birthday his friends and colleagues participated in a press-conference to announce the launching of International Award named after him. Speakers included Charlotte Ruhe, Director of EBRD’s TAM/BAS Regional Programme (London), EBRD BAS Programme directors from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as representatives from Central Asian management consulting institutes. Viktoria Olskaia, Gabriel’s wife, spoke about her plan to create Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation.
