Regional Director for Central Asia, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Business Advisory Services Programme, 2001 - present:

  • I launched and currently direct a commercially-oriented consulting services provision program that has assisted more than 1,000 enterprises to hire local consultants in Central Asia to solve business problems; program was rated “highly successful” and “extremely successful” by independent evaluators. 
  • Typical projects supported include implementations of management information systems and ISO-compliant quality management systems, market research, business planning, branding and energy efficiency.

 

Manager, KPMG Consulting, Washington, DC, 1999 - 2001:

  • Served as Project Manager (Chief of Party) and Senior Advisor on engagements in Vietnam, Montenegro (former Yugoslavia) and Mongolia;
  • Provided advisory services in privatization and enterprise restructuring strategy, organizational planning and process management; and
  • Business development, proposal writing and presentation, budget planning.

 

Associate, A.T. Kearney Management Consulting, Moscow and Berlin, 1998 - 1999:

  • Consulting engagements in Russia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the US in market analysis, global benchmarking, and acquisition target identification; industries covered include automotive, oil & gas and food processing; clients included multinational firms as well as Russian financial-industrial groups;
  • Project strategy, proposal writing, budget planning; and
  • Served as a trainer in the firm’s Consulting Skills Training program, provided training to consultants in the Paris, London, Berlin and Moscow offices.

 

Project Director, Ernst & Young LLP, 1994 – 1997:

  • As Chief of Party of a USAID-funded engagement, led ongoing consultations to the Government of Kazakhstan on privatization strategy, policy and implementation;
  • Provided assistance to the Government of Kazakhstan in conducting its “blue chip privatization” program of offering shares of key industrial enterprises to international investors through the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange.
