This is an award that is granted by the outgoing Chair of the ICMCI Executive Committee to select few persons who have contributed to the growth of the profession and the goals of ICMCI, but have not held any office while doing so. Gabriel was awarded the title in full appreciation of his contribution to the work of ICMCI in Central Asia as the Regional Director of EBRD BAS Programme.
Viktoria Olskaia, President of Gabriel Al-Salem’s Foundation, and Kenji Nakazawa, Gabriel’s colleague from EBRD, traveled to Taipei to receive the award from Dr. Aneeta Madhock, ICMCI’s Current Chair, Brian Ing, Immediate Past Chair, and Francesco D'Aprile, Incoming Chair.
The Citation on the award says the following:
"In the Central Asian Region, ICMCI has been particularly active due to the energy and efforts of Gabriel Al-Salem, CMC, who was the Regional Director of the Business Advisory Services Program of the Central Asian Region. His efforts within his EBRD role have led to the formation of associations of consulting in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, and the certification and training of consultants in this region. For ICMCI, it is recognized that this work has been commendable and of pioneering nature."
After receiving the award Viktoria made a presentation about the Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation and Gabriel Al-Salem International Award to all of the trustees.
